[It’s Been a While]

Standard

It’s been so long

Such a long time

When I last saw inside

Inside myself it has changed

The things before

No longer the same

The piece of me I treasured most

Seems to have abandoned me

To further reaches

I could never go

Beyond anywhere I think I could look

I think of old times

When I knew who I was

When I knew what I could be

But now the changes are immense

The changes are beyond my control

Things will never be as they were

Not for a long time

Not for a long while

[Poem][Leave]

Standard

In the blink of an eye

They can be gone forever

We can see it coming

In all that time

And never be able to stop it

It is what you do

It is what you make of the time you have

The clock is running down

The sun setting on ever day

Time moves on

No matter who you are

Leave the memories good

And the people you love happy

Leave something that can be smiled upon

Leave time in your tracks

Leave on your own terms

Leave in your own damn time

[Poem][Whirlwind]

Standard

Knocking back and forth

A whirlwind rocking through the hallway

Air pushed upwards, always upwards

Twisting in the stairwells

Building up speed and noise

A gust on a mission

To blow through the halls

And knock all the doors

To make itself heard

Because it can never be seen

Invisible in the awakened hours

An unseen force of mystery

Only being heard when necessary

Never showing itself

Even when it wants to be

[Poem][Light]

Standard

Light crawls beneath the doorframe

Flowing through the curtains

Cascading across the floor

It comes closer

Wanting to touch everything

A gentle caress against naked skin

A warming unmatched by anything else

Rays of sunlight moving closer

Travelling to every corner

Shining its truth on everything

Hiding nothing

Everything coming to light

[Quote][‘Time is a healer…’]

Standard

“People keep saying that time is a great healer. It can be, sometimes. But it’s also a real bastard. Time only heals when your mind has something to occupy it. Without something to distract you, time degrades you, brings you down. It makes everything ten times worse.”

[Poem][Time]

Standard

Why does time

Seem to creep up so quickly

Dates

Deadlines

Due dates

Destinations

Departures

Death

That last one creeps up fast

And there is nothing stopping it

In the blink of an eye

They can be gone forever

We can see it coming

In all that time

And never be able to stop it

It is what you do

It is what you make of the time you have

The clock is running down

The sun setting on every day

Time moves on

No matter who you are

Leave the memories good

And the people you love happy

Leave something that can be smiled upon

Leave time in your tracks

Leave on your own terms

[This Schedule Option…]

Standard

I have completely fallen in love with the scheduling option that bloggers can put on their posts. I won’t lie; I am typing this post in December long before it has come to see the light of a computer screen.

In the past year, sometimes days to a week would pass before I would get the opportunity to post poems and articles I have had ready weeks prior. There would be long gaps between my posts and I would feel horrid for seeming to not care about my followers. Whether or not my 100+ followers actually read and/or care about what I post, I still had feelings of neglect. As much as I love writing and reading my blog reader, life does get in the way.

Now, I can binge on my writing, like I normally do when I have time to myself, and set up everything I write for sharing! Oh WordPress, if only you could also find me more time to write!
