[The Assassin, Rollick][Part 9]

Standard

Light danced

On her solemn face

She smiled when they smiled

Frowned when they complained

Scoffed when they needed chastising

Mona knew people too

But she could never take

Anyone’s life was worth something

Her blade of death

Were words, sharpened with morality

If her words changed nothing

It was not long before my blade did

Her eyes rose onto me

She smiled, eyes closed

She would not

If she knew me

If she knew my blade

[Poem][Leave]

Standard

In the blink of an eye

They can be gone forever

We can see it coming

In all that time

And never be able to stop it

It is what you do

It is what you make of the time you have

The clock is running down

The sun setting on ever day

Time moves on

No matter who you are

Leave the memories good

And the people you love happy

Leave something that can be smiled upon

Leave time in your tracks

Leave on your own terms

Leave in your own damn time

[Poem][The End]

Standard

Why sit and wait for the end to come?

Why not welcome it with open arms?

After a life lived so many years,

Why not go with some peace?

Is it so bad to close your eyes,

One last time around family?

Is that so bad?

To speak no more,

To watch no more,

To spend no more time a life,

That has been going for so long.

Can’t we close our eyes,

And breath no more?

To hold the hands of grandchildren,

Grown and on their own,

Is it not enough?

Is there more than that to wait for?

When does living stop being about others,

And become about yourself?

When does it become about others again?

Does it?

Does it matter what that family thinks?

Can they understand why it needs to end?

I think they do.

I think all my babies know.

[The Assassin, Rollick][Part 8]

Standard

The morning rose

Sun diminishing the shadows

Rollick now hid in plain sight

The sun hid his true life

As he walked among the normal people

They took no notice

Sash pulled high

His face was difficult to see

But even in the midday heat

No one took any notice

Women smiled

And children laughed

All felt good in the sun

But around a dark corner

Down the next alley

Evil deeds still thrived

Rollick’s work was never done

And as long as the blade thirsted

As long as Rollick could see

As long as bad people

Did dead deeds

Blood would flow

Night or day

Night and day

[Poem][Time]

Standard

Why does time

Seem to creep up so quickly

Dates

Deadlines

Due dates

Destinations

Departures

Death

That last one creeps up fast

And there is nothing stopping it

In the blink of an eye

They can be gone forever

We can see it coming

In all that time

And never be able to stop it

It is what you do

It is what you make of the time you have

The clock is running down

The sun setting on every day

Time moves on

No matter who you are

Leave the memories good

And the people you love happy

Leave something that can be smiled upon

Leave time in your tracks

Leave on your own terms

[The Assassin, Rollick][Part 7]

Standard

Jumping from roof to roof

Shadows climbing every wall

Was there men following?

Did the dead man speak?

Blood flowed heavily, easily

Thirsts quenched

The blade was satisfied

And so were the throats of men

They too must have left the light

And came across the darkness

The darkness of what mankind does

They found Death

On their doorstep

Where they thought they were safe

They are blind

To the truth of the world

They think what they do is just

They think that makes them safe

They think wrong

Soon enough

Their own blood would flow

Blood on their doorstep

This was their reminder

[Moving Forward]

Standard

I want to try and move back into posting as I normally would. Yes, moving forward by moving backwards. Makes complete sense, I know.

So… tomorrow, I will post the pieces I have already prepared, I will continue posting on my writing, my thoughts, and what I’m reading. I have a large bookcase made heavy with author’s names, and a crammed Kobo that needs some space.
